    THERMAL BODY THERAPY & MASSAGE
Cleansing, exfoliation and hydration are just as critical for the body as they are for the face. This awesome treatment serves two purposes: to deliver healthy skin and feel incredible! Thermal Body Treatments help relieve fluid retention and toxic accumulation. The body is gently heated with lamps, heated blankets, and special formulated products. In addition to keeping you comfortable, the heat will serve to relax your muscles, induce sweating, increase sensory nerve conduction. These responses relieve pain and calm the psyche, all while creating a body temperature that is more conducive to the penetration of essential product ingredients into the skin.

Please allow three hours for this indulgent treatment! The thermal body treatment will be done by Brenda and Trish will be doing the massage.
Regular price $225.00 Valentine Special $185.00

    Confessions of an Awkward Yogi
    rabbit

Obviously, it would be much easier to be a yogi in a cave in the Himalayas than it is for me. I don’t think ascetics realize how good they have it. They don’t have to worry about how to make the next college tuition payment or tolerate telemarketers at dinner. No one cuts them off in traffic or expects them to put their world on hold for the Super Bowl.

It is especially difficult being both a mother and a yogini. It's the whole detachment thing. I’m sure it’s a snap to detach in an ashram. But just try it when your oldest child calls from an army hospital in Korea thousands of miles away. Or, when you daughter is crying her heart out over some loser who didn’t call.

To the yogi, detachment and even-mindedness are everything. We search for balance in mind, body, and spirit. We flow through poses meant to make us strong and centered and, hopefully, able to handle the day the washer overflows and the dog barfs in front of guests.

I meditate and practice poses and read yogic texts, but I still fall apart in the midst of calamity. I still burn with anger and sink into depression. It is quite obvious – I am an awkward yogi. I don’t look like a yogi. I have a shape that runs screaming from a unitard. I have fat cells as old as my children. I also don’t eat like a yogi. Sometimes bliss just comes as fettucini alfredo. A vegetarian meal is just an excuse to eat bread. And some days, I wonder why I even unroll the yoga mat.

Then something will happen and I will discover a tiny corner of yogini in me. In a long line of Christmas shoppers, the woman behind me is moving her baby from one hip to another. I suggest she move ahead of me. She declines, but I see the hope in her eyes and insist. As she brushes past me, a wave of calm and patience swamps me.

When a spider invites itself into my house, I call for my husband to capture the creature and release it outside. Although challenging, I try to refrain from glaring at impatient and rude people who should in cell phones in public places.

As I said, being a yogi isn’t easy, especially in the wireless age, but then maybe it isn’t supposed to be. So I continue to breathe and, in my own little way, alway make my decisions from a place of love and shift from fear, which sometimes is our greatest teacher. ---Jonda Watson

    What our students are saying...
    Lee

"Just a note to say a huge THANK YOU for introducing me to your FLOW class. This is no doubt going to sound so "drama queen" , but truly, this class has changed my life. I can't even think of it as just a class...it's become a total lifestyle change in itself!

When I began the class less than six months ago, I did so because in spite of consistent exercising, not only was my weight gradually increasing but my energy level was dropping. I just couldn't tone up that arm, thigh, and especially the tummy and fanny flab, no matter what I tried. It wasn't so much the extra weight I minded, I just hated the way it was distributed. I felt awful about myself. I'd heard a lot of good things about FLOW and hoped that I might see at least a subtle difference.

WOW! What a change! I'm just sorry it took me so long to try that first class. I mentioned before that I was exercising consistently and that's true, but only because I felt I had to in order to just try to keep up with the effects of growing older. (I'm basically a lazy person.) Hard for me to believe but I LOVE this class and can't wait to get to Sana Vida as often as I can. In fact, it makes me a little cranky when the demands of business interfere with my three classes a week! I now have far more energy and I feel so much better about myself. My physical strength and balance are so much improved. I was pretty athletic as a teen but I can honestly say that at 46 years of age I'm in the best physical condition of my life now and it has everything to do with FLOW. I have dropped many pounds and the difference in the way my clothes fit is incredible. I just put on a pair of jeans that I wore more than 20 pounds ago and they were snug then. They fit!! How cool is that? My friends think I've lost a lot of weight and my husband tells me he wants to tell all the husbands, boyfriends, significant others' out there to encourage the important women in their lives to at least give this class a try. Yep...he's enjoying the benefits of my being stronger, healthier and feeling good about myself.

So, thank you Patti. I'm telling everyone I know that when you invited me to that first FLOW class over a year ago, I should have done it for me right then. Love it, love it, love it!!

    Warmest Regards, Lee Middlebrooks

How Many Acupuncture Sessions Will I Need to Get Better?

Each person responds differently to acupuncture. I can determine a persons rate of response in approximately four visits, if the visits are not spaced more than one week apart. Other factors that may increase the number of sessions required for corrective care include: age, time between visits, repetitive steroid injections, and the chronic nature of the disorder (how long one has had the problem.)

Typically, acute conditions such as an allergy attack, migraine, or sprained ankle may only take a few visits. On the other hand, chronic conditions such a arthrtis for 30 years may take more than 15 visits for relief.
